With three National Parks, plus Richmond Forest Park and the Marlborough Sounds, the top of the South Island region with its coastal, mountain and river landscapes plus wide variety of adventure activities is tailor made for multisport journeys. The Simply Wild founders were adventure racers, and we dreamed of creating a multisport trip that everybody could enjoy and challenge themselves.
10 years later, our “Journey at the Edge” is still unique in combining helibiking or cycling, sailing, sea kayaking, helihiking and helirafting into a continous journey in one of the most diverse and beautiful landscapes in the world. Multisport, particularly family multisport is common in many parts of the world, especially the USA, so it is no surprise that most of our clients are families looking for a memorable shared and active experience.
Both of our multisport trips can be tailored – the four day trip can become a three day trip if you don’t wish to do the rafting, or a two day trip with sea kayaking and helibiking on day one, helihiking on the Heaphy track day two. Helibiking can be substituted with cycling. We can also extend it to seven days, incorporating the total Heaphy track, one of New Zealands Great Walks.
